Avril Lavigne has a star tattooed on the inside of her left wrist, applied when she met a friend and musical associate Ben Moody's who also have identical tattoo. In 2004, she had a small pink heart-shaped tattoo featuring the letter D applied to her right wrist - may a reference to boyfriend Deryck Whibley.

Avril Lavigne formerly traveled with a bag full of about thirty neck ties. Some of them she bought on her own, and rest she took from her dad. In 2003 Avril Lavigne stopped wearing neckties completely, as she was horrified at the constant media references to them overshadowing her music and that she was starting a fashion trend amongst her fans.

Avril Lavigne broke a record set by Madonna's of ten weeks, as her song 'Complicated' held the number one spot on the Contemporary Hit Radio chart for eleven weeks in a row. Avril's skater chick fashion style was one of the most imitated of 2002.

Avril Lavigne's 'Complicated' was one of the best-selling Canadian singles of 2002. She has made the list of FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2003 and the FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2004. It was reported that Lavigne was romantically involved with then band member Jessie Colburn in 2003.

Avril's band currently have the members namely Devin Bronson (lead guitar), Craig Wood (rhythm guitar), Charlie Moniz (bass) and Matt Brann (drums). The departed members from Lavigne's band are Evan Taubenfeld (lead guitar, 2002-04), Mark Spicoluk (bass, 2002) and Jessie Colburn (rhythm guitar, 2002-03).

Avril Lavigne is the youngest Canadian to ever popular and sell a million copies in Canada. Her hit albums are as (the first three with The Matrix):

  • Complicated - It went to number one on the US adult charts and in Australia while reaching number two on the Billboard Hot 100.

  • Sk8er Boi - It went top ten in the US and Australia and number one in Canada.

  • I'm With You - It reached number one on the US and world adult charts, and number four on the Billboard Hot 100.

  • Losing Grip - It reached number one in Canada, number ten in Taiwan, number twenty in Chile, and the top fifty on a composite European chart.
