Brittany Murphy was one of the most beloved actresses in Hollywood. Her death shocked the whole world as it was a much unexpected event. Brittany died from a combination of factors; pneumonia and anemia were said to be the main causes. She also got intoxicated from all the over-the-counter medicines she was taking. She died on 20th December, 2009. To make matters worse, her husband, Simon Monjack, too died after five months of the same causes as her.
Brittany was single handedly raised by her mother when her parents divorced when she was only 2 years old. Her mother took her to New Jersey where she also trained in dance and music. She attributed her success as an actress to her mother who encouraged her creativity and did not force her to take up academics. Her family even moved to California so Brittany could pursue her acting career.
Brittany has done a lot of TV work including the voice of Luanne Platter in King of the Hill (1997-2009). She then moved onto films where she starred mostly in comedies like Just Married (2003), Uptown Girls (2003) and The Groomsmen (2006). She also did serious work in 8 Mile (2002) and The Dead Girl (2006) and even got critical appreciation for them. Brittany lent her voice for Gloria the penguin in Happy Feet (2006). Brittany was chosen because the character would also have to sing. She was a trained singer and did a good job in the movie. The movie was a hit, grossing close to $400 million and became one of highest grossing animation films ever.
Her most famous relationship has been the one with Aston Kutcher. The two were even rumored to be married but never confirmed it. She then married Simon Monjack and the two lived in Hollywood along with her mother.
