When Cameron Diaz was 16 she met a photographer Jeff Dunas at a party who suggested her to try modeling. He put in a good word for Cameron at the Elite modeling agency. Her talent landed her in such magazines as Mademoiselle and Seventeen, and in advertising campaigns for such companies as Calvin Klein, Coca-Cola, and Levi's. After leaving home at 16, she toured the world modeling for five years, and her successful career took her to Japan, Australia, Morocco, and Paris. Cameron returned to California at the age of 21. Cameron's first movie was the high budget The Mask with Jim Carrey in 1994. She did many low budget films but Cameron won rave reviews for her role of a perfect fiancée opposite Julia Roberts in the romantic comedy My Best Friend's Wedding in 1997, which led her to greater success in the Farrelly brothers' There's Something About Mary in 1998. There's Something About Mary brought her genuine star status. Now she is one of the highest paid actress in Hollywood. | |||
