Carmen Electra Biography

Tara Leigh Patrick is her real name but she goes by her professional name of Carmen Electra. She was born in the small town of Sharonville, Ohio, to Patricia, a singer and Harry, a guitarist. She studied in Ann Weigel Elementary School and also enrolled at a Dance Artist studio to study dance. She started off her career as a dancer at the King’s Island amusement park in Ohio. She performed in the show Its Magic which was a hit with the audiences.

She moved to California where she fronted a rap group. Here she was noticed by Prince and was taken on-board his record label. She even toured with him and was a part of his opening act. She got a few small roles in TV shows and was noticed by the Playboy magazine. She was offered a photo shoot to which she promptly agreed. Her pictures were published and were a hit with the fans. Thereon, she has appeared in many issues and became the first model to turn photographer for the magazine. Carmen was also on Baywatch for a year and returned to the show for a few episodes in 2003.

In 1998, she married basketball player turned film star Dennis Rodman but divorced him the very next year. 1998 was a very tough year in her life as she lost her mother to brain tumor and her sister to a heart attack. But she braved through all the pain and continued to work.

She made her film debut in the horror comedy American Vampire opposite Adam West. Carmen has mostly appeared in comedy movies mostly of the spoof genre. Her first spoof was Scary Movie where she played Drew Decker. This became one of the many spoof movies she went on work in. She has worked in spoof movies like Date Movie (2006), Scary Movie 4, Meet the Spartans and Disaster Movie (2008). She also worked in the TV remake of Starsky & Hutch (2004) with Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson and took home the MTV Best Kiss award.

Carmen has also made appearances on TV shows like Just Shoot Me, The Simpsons and House. She also has her own 5 DVD set workout video called Carmen Electra Aerobic Striptease. She married for the second time, this on the MTV reality show ‘Til Death Do Us Part (2003) with Dave Navarro lead guitarist of Jane’s Addiction. Sadly, this marriage too did not last and the couple split in February 2007. She is currently dating Rob Patterson of the band Otep.
