Mother-in-law Cynthia joined the Lord Of The Rings actress as she took nine-month-old baby Milo for a walk in New York. The tot lay contentedly in his pushchair, while the grown-ups had a good laugh. His grandma's brand of Yorkshire humour had Liv in fits of giggles and at one point the two women even held hands, giving further proof of their mutual affection.
Perhaps the key to their closeness is Liv's open admiration for Royston's roots. The actress has admitted to feeling at home in the northern city. "I love the Roman ruins and the rolling hills," she enthused. "It's so beautiful. I've also become a big fan of Yorkshire pudding." And her down-to-earth attitude has made her a firm favourite with all the family, including Royston's father Chester, who's called her "a really lovely lass."
Residents in the Big Apple should get used to seeing the star out and about. Fulfilling a vow to take time off to look after her baby, the actress has been picking and choosing her projects with care. "She doesn't want to have to drag her child from movie set to movie set," a friend of the star revealed after Milo's arrival. "The birth of this child is something she has waited for since she was young. She told me, 'I'm looking forward to being one of those stroller moms!'"
