Jenny McCarthy writes her own funny-girl part.

October 2, 2005

Jenny McCarthy knows all too well how messy love can be. So she's a natural for her new movie "Dirty Love." While she won't talk about her recent divorce, homegirl McCarthy will open up about the high school sweetheart who broke her heart.

"I remember crying and saying, 'Why are you breaking up with me?' And he told me, 'Because you're a total dork.' Well, I ran into this guy a few months ago while I was visiting my family in Chicago and I thought, 'Look at your beer gut and missing tooth. Now, you're the dork.' But I didn't say anything."

"He actually asked me why I broke up with him!" McCarthy recalls.

But she didn't add to the heartbreak. That's the thing about McCarthy. She's much sweeter and smarter than your average actress-turned-author-turned-screenplay writer. In town recently, McCarthy took some time to tell Fluff about coming home, dating, sex and what it was like working with fellow vixen Carmen Electra.

HERE'S WHAT McCARTHY HAD TO SAY
"If I had 24 hours to spend in Chicago, I know exactly what I would do. I'd hit White Castle and eat some burgers. A lot of burgers. Maybe get some deep dish pizza. I'm serious about my carbs when I'm here. And then I'd go to Orland Park Mall. I'd go there just like I did when I was in high school although back then it was all about looking for cute guys. Wait, maybe I could look for some cute guys today."

"I'm dreading dating again. I'm really scared of getting into the 'I love you' phase with someone new. When do you even say it!"

"I guess I'll date actors. Actors date actors because they don't meet anyone else. The truth is I don't want to date any actors."

"I'll just sleep around a bit. Just kidding!"

"I'd love for women to go see ['Dirty Love'] because it's really the ultimate chick flick. I wrote it five years ago because I kept getting scripts were I was just the straight one. I really want to be the funny girl in movies. At the same time, I started writing books and people kept telling me I was really funny. I thought, 'Why can't I be funny in a movie?"

"I'm sorry, but there were no catfights. We didn't touch each other's hair. [Electra] is a really sweet girl and we got along great. I know people want to read that we clawed each other's eyes out. Why should we fight? It's not like she slept with my husband!"

"I'm also working on a new book called Life Laughs. It's about women and men. It's about what women go through, including chapters on sex and faking it. I have great sex advice."

"Motherhood has done a 360 on my life. Everything I do is for my little man (son Evan Joseph). I'd love to have all the money in the world and someday let him grow up in Chicago. I'd love to live here again and give him that type of childhood."

"I think everyone at my high school thought I'd just be the married-and-pregnant girl down the block. I guess they thought I'd be the funny block lady. It's funny that now I come back to Chicago and run into the mean girls from high school. They tormented me when I was younger, but now they remember that we were best friends."

"I was not a dork. I just want to set the record straight."
