David and Victoria have put their UK mansion for sale
The former spice girls’ singer Victoria Beckham and her footballer beau David Beckham have put their luxurious English mansion on sale and are planning to move to US permanently. The star couple is planning to place their property in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire in the market for an estimated USD 27 million.
The spokesperson of the couple said, “We can confirm David and Victoria have had their UK home valued.” The Beckhams had bought the estate for USD 3.8 million in 1999 and the lavish home was known by the UK press as the Beckingham Palace.
However, the stars were keen on offloading the property after relocating to Los Angeles in 2007. A close source to the stars revealed, “Frankly they cannot see themselves ever returning to make London their full-time base. The children are settled, speak with American accents and Victoria and David are immersed in the laid-back Los Angeles way of life. They love it there, they are well liked and they have plenty of friends and feel it is their spiritual home.”
The source also added, “Beckingham Palace takes a lot to look after. It made them realize that it is pointless having it. Victoria’s design studio is situated in Battersea (south London) so when she is over for business she stays in the Claridge’s Hotel and it is more central. They have spent a small fortune on London hotel bills and have a house an hour away waiting empty.”
