Maria Sharapova will not follow the steps of Anna Kournikova for advertising contracts

Shamil Tarpishchev, the President of the Russian Tennis Federation, told the press on Friday that in his opinion Maria Sharapova will not follow the steps of Anna Kournikova and exchange sports for advertising contracts, the RIA-Novosti news agency reports.
"Never. She is concentrated on the results," Tarpishchev said answering a reporter’s question about Sharapova’s future. He added that Sharapova had very stable psychics. “Sharapova has a phenomenal nervous system. She is within herself, such people are rare. That is why she has not been ’star-struck’,” the Russian tennis boss said.
Sharapova, with her the top model looks and first place in the WTA rating, got over 18 million dollars in advertising contracts after winning Wimbledon in 2004. By many accounts she has become the biggest earner in women’s sport.
Anna Kournikova is Rumoured to have $5 million worth of contracts, with principal sponsors Adidas, Yonex, Berlei, Terra Lycos and Omega, but her tennis achievements are modest compared to Sharapova.
