October 5, 2005

Due to popular demand and the urging of her successful, California-based actors, Lynette Sheldon is taking her highly-respected teaching methods to Los Angeles. This is to be the newest of Ms. Sheldon's three studios, including New York City and Sydney, Australia.

Australian-born Lynette Sheldon was mentored by the great Stella Adler and subsequently trained with both Larry Moss and Michael Howard.

She has acted and directed professionally for over 25 years with actors such as Robert de Niro, Al Pacino, Dustin Hoffman and Woody Allen.

Her passion for actors and acting informs her teaching, and she has been called one of the most inspiring and effective acting coaches of the day.

In Los Angeles, students of Sheldon are working successfully in feature films, television, and theatre. Among hundreds of working actors trained by Ms. Sheldon, her current students include:

- Mike Vogel: Rumor Has It with Jennifer Aniston and Kevin Costner, Poseidon Adventure 2005 remake with Kurt Russell and Emmy Rossum, Caffeine, Havoc, Supercross, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Wuthering Heights, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Grind, and Fox's Grounded for Life.
- Jordi Vilasuso: 2003 Emmy Award winner for Best Actor in a Television Series for The Guiding Light, co-star with Rebecca DeMornay in Outland, and upcoming Guest Star on Numb3rs, Heights, The Last Home Run, co-star in The Lost City with Andy Garcia, Bill Murray, and Dustin Hoffman. One of Sheldon's Australian/Canadian students, Rebecca Davis is currently headlining at the Toronto Film Festival in the new Atom Egoyan film Where the Truth Lies, co-starring Kevin Bacon and Colin Firth.

The Lynette Sheldon's Acting System integrates all of the great acting techniques, including Stanislavski, Stella Adler, Meisner and improvisation with organic breath and bodywork, sensory work, script analysis, personalization, imagination, character and awareness exercises for both beginning and professional actors. These techniques are then immediately applied to scene study, roles, and the audition process to help actors realize their true potential.

Sheldon trains her actors to live spontaneously and make powerful, exciting choices for film, theatre, and television, and to develop the confidence to succeed in this industry.
