Clint Eastwood biography

Clinton Eastwood, Jr. was born on May 30, 1930 in San Francisco, California. Clinton Eastwood Sr. who was a steelworker, migratory worker and Francesca Ruth Eastwood were parents of Clint. He also has one older sister, Jean Eastwood.

Clint Eastwood done his education at eight elementary schools and Oakland Technical High School in California. He attended college on the GI Bill in Los Angeles City College, California but later dropped out and joined the United States Army.

He began work as an actor, appearing in such B-films as Tarantula, and Francis in the Navy. In 1959 he got his first breakthrough with the long-running Television series, Rawhide. It was the anthology TV series The West Point Story which launched Clint onto the screens of American audiences.

In 1973 he reprised Harry Callahan in Magnum Force and, in the same year, signed a contract with Warner Bros. At this point Clint was romantically involved with Sondra Locke and he began a series of many collaborations with her, the first of which was The Outlaw Josey Wales.

Eastwood is also done some memorable roles like The Man With No Name in For a Few Dollars More (1965) and Harry Callahan in the huge hit cop drama Dirty Harry (1971) and it's sequels. Following receiving his star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame in 1984, Eastwood later garnered a handful of awards for his directing work in Bird (1988) and Unforgiven (1992).

Clint Eastwood received numerous awards including double Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Director for the movie Unforgiven (1992). His exceptional works could be seen in A Perfect World (1993, opposite Kevin Costner), In the Line of Fire (1993), The Bridges of Madison County (1994), The Stars Fell on Henrietta (1995, producer) and Absolute Power (1997).

"And I like to direct the same way that I like to be directed," Clint Eastwood.

As a director, his films include: Unforgiven (1992, co-starring Gene Hackman), Mystic River (2003, starring Sean Penn) and Million Dollar Baby (2004, with Hilary Swank and Morgan Freeman). He was also the man behind the scenes for Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (1997, starring Kevin Spacey and John Cusack), the thriller True Crime (1999), Space Cowboys (2000, with Tommy Lee Jones and Donald Sutherland) and Blood Work (2002).

Award winning director and actor Clint Eastwood received his second Academy Award for Best Director for the boxing drama that he also costarred in, Million Dollar Baby(2004). Additionally, Eastwood is currently working on his upcoming film project, the WW II drama Flags of Our Fathers (2006), which is an adaptation taken from James Bradley's book. Eastwood is also reported to have provided his voice for the Dirty Harry video game.

Clint Eastwood married Maggie Johnson on December 19, 1953 and they had two children , son Kyle Eastwood and daughter Alison Eastwood. They seperated in 1978. After few years Clint finally married TV anchor Dina Ruiz on March, 31 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada and they had one daughter, Morgan Eastwood. He also has four other children, Kimber Eastwood from Roxanne Tunis, Scott Eastwood, Kathryn Eastwood and Francesca Ruth Eastwood from Frances Fisher.

Apart from his acting career Eastwood's extra credits includes that he was elected mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea, California on April 8, 1986. Clint Eastwood was the name of a hit 2001 single by the hip-hop group Gorillaz, Eastwood's character in his films with Leone is often referred to as "The Man With No Name."
