Eve is daughter of Julie Wilch and Jerry Jeffers. Her parents separated when she was 12 years old. So she lived with her mother and grandmother. At the age of 14, her mother remarried. She has a brother, Farrod. Eve Jihan Jeffers began stripping as an escape from her mother's new marriage.

Eve Jihan Jeffers won so many school merit awards for her poems, plays and short stories. For a short period, Eve was a part of a 5-piece singing group that covered tunes by En Vogue and Color Me Badd in her teens. Eve Jihan Jeffers was also a member of EDGP (pronounced as Egypt) rap group and was tagged the name "Gansta". She began emceeing and rapping as part of the group EDGP. Before starting rapping, Eve worked as a table dancer/stripper.

Dr. Dre was very impressed with Eve's rapping so in 1997, Eve received a one-year contract with Dr Dre's label Aftermath and that was the Eve's big break into the music industry. In 1998, Eve Jihan Jeffers signed with Ruff Ryders Records. Eve was only female signed to the Ruff Ryders label.

In 1999, Eve Jihan Jeffers was robbed in Long Island. The robbers took a two bracelets and a necklace valued at $137,000. In 1999, Eve's debut album, "Let There Be...Eve: Ruff Ryders First Lady" was released. This album sold almost 2 million copies. In 2001, another album, "Scorpion" was released. Because of her astrological sign, The album was named "Scorpion". Eve was nominated for a Grammy awards as "Best Rap Album".

Eve Jihan Jeffers was the Co-Executive Producer on the "Eve" show from 2003 to 2006. Eve Jihan Jeffers was a contestant on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" and she won $32,000 for her charity. She is a collaborator and friend of singer Gwen Stefani.
