Orlando Bloom was born on January 13, 1977 in Canterbury, Kent, England, UK. He was born as Orlando Jonathan Blanchard Bloom. In the early 2000s, he came to fame. His role of Legolas in "The Lord of the Rings films" is very famous.

Orlando bloom's real father, Colin Stone was a British teacher. But Bloom believed that Harry Bloom was his real father who is a famous South African lawyer, writer & activist. And Sonia Bloom was his mother who born in Calcutta, India. He has a sister; Samantha Bloom (actress) was born in 1975.

Orlando Bloom attended St. Edmunds School in Canterbury. He is good at arts, pottery, photography and also sculpturing. In 1999, he was graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. At the age of 13, he was a clay trapper at a pigeon shooting range. He has a tattoo of 'nine' in Elvish on his right forearm, and at the age of 15, he has a tatoo of sun on his torso.

Orlando Bloom began acting professionally with a television role in an episode of Casualty. In 1997, his first movie, "Wilde" was released. Brian Gilbert was the director of this movie. In 1998, Orlando Bloom broke his back in a three-story fall, he made a complete recovery and within thirteen days he was able to walk. To strengthen the back, he regularly performs yoga.

In 2001, his another movie, "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" was released. In this movie, he played a role of Legolas Greenleaf. Peter Jackson was the director of this movie. For this movie he won so many awards including Empire Awards, MTV Movie Awards, etc. In 2005, his "Kingdom of Heaven" was released. During this movie he adopted a dog-named Sidi.

In 2002, Orlando Bloom was one of Teen People Magazine's "25 Hottest Stars Under 25." He was ranked 76 on VH1's 100 Hottest Hotties.

In 2004, Orlando Bloom became a full member of Nichiren Buddhism. Bloom is currently dating actress Kate Bosworth. In 2007, Orlando Bloom's one movie, "Seasons of Dust" will be released. In this film, he plays a role of Rocky and Kate Bosworth plays role of as Janey.
