This heartthrob from London has been growing in popularity daily. Robert has garnered a huge female fan following owing to his role as Edward Cullen in Twilight (2008). His first big movie appearance was in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) as Cedric Diggory. Robert has had a meteoric rise in Hollywood in a time span of only a few years.
Robert was a complete wild child; he even got expelled from school at the age of 12. Robert was not very interested in acting at first. He was more into his music; he plays both the piano and the guitar. Robert joined a small theatre group called Barnes Theatre Company and worked in a lot of small plays.
His big break came when he met Mike Newell, the director of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and a week later he was cast as Cedric Diggory in the movie. He did a few small movies in between but his big ticket came in the form of Twilight; the screen adaptation of the book of the same name by Stephanie Meyers. He auditioned for the role of Edward Cullen, a vampire in love with a human girl and beat three thousand other actors. The movie was a huge hit thrusting Robert straight into the A-list of Hollywood. The subsequent sequels to movie were also huge hits only adding to Robert’s ever increasing popularity.
Owing to his popularity as a madly-in-love vampire he garnered a huge female fan following. He was even named on as one of the ‘Sexiest Men Alive’ in 2008 and 2009 by People magazine. There was always speculation about who he was dating; he was even linked to several Hollywood hotties. But the truth was that he had started dating his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart. The two were a couple off-screen as well.
Robert has just begun his career in Hollywood and has quite a few good films in his hands, not to mention the super successful Twilight franchise. Besides acting Robert is also an accomplished musician. He performed two songs for the Twilight soundtrack and also co-wrote one of them. He has also composed three songs for the soundtrack of the movie How to Be (2009). Robert also tried his hand at production by turning Executive Producer for the film Remember Me (2010), he also starred in the movie.
With a bunch of promising films in the pipeline and his relationship with Kristen going strong things are looking great for this 24-year-old.
