Birth name: Sean Paul Henriques Sean Paul is a very popular musician. Sean Paul was born on 8th January, 1973 as Sean Paul Henriques in Kingston, Jamaicais. Sean Paul was born to a Portuguese-Jamaican father and a Chinese-Jamaican mother. Sean Paul grew up as the "copper- color Chiney bwoy". Sean Paul played water polo for the Jamaica National team as well as representing his country in swimming in the 1989 and 1991 Carifta Games. The artists such as Lt. Stitchie, Major Worries, and Supercat were his important influences. Sean developed his skills by making dubs and playing barbecues. In 1996, Sean Paul released his debut single, "Baby Girl," with producer Jeremy Harding. In 1997, Sean Paul recorded in combination with Spanner Banner on the Jamaican chart-topper, "Ladies Man", through the singer's Sweet Angel Productions. In 1998, Sean Paul recorded "Infiltrate" on Jeremy Harding’s Playground/Zim Zimma riddim. The riddim was a reggae smash, both in Jamaica and internationally. "Infiltrate" became a top record in the juggling mix In 1999, Sean Paul's career was firmly established when he embarked on a hectic touring schedule taking in Europe, Japan and the United States. He was collaborated by Mr. Vegas and American rapper DMX on a contribution to the soundtrack of Hype Williams Belly. He cemented his popularity in the USA with a hit remix of "Hot Gal Today". As Sean Paul's reputation grew in Jamaica, all other Caribbean picked up on Sean Paul’s sound. Soon, Jamaicans in Miami, New York, and London knew the words "Dutty Yeah" were a signal to hit the dance floor. With the help of "Dutty Rock", Sean moves to greater strength and ratcheting his sound straight up to the heights. | |
