Sienna Rose Miller was born in New York City on December 28, 1981. Her father Ed Miller, was an prominent American banker, and her mother Jo is from South Africa. Siblings, stepsiblings and half-siblings include Savannah, Charles, Stephen, and Natasha. Sienna Miller moved to England as a child and attended the Heathfield School in Ascot, Berkshire. She later joined the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York City. Miller spent most of her girlhood attending school in England, including Heathfield in Ascot, Surrey, one of the few remaining all-girl boarding schools. As a student, Miller was known for her wild side, she had a itch for streaking the lacrosse field and snogging the gardener. All in all, Miller balanced having a good time with excelling in her studies, which included music, dance, sports and acting. Miller returned to New York after complition of her graduation from Heathfield to study acting full time at the Lee Strasberg Institute. The actress performed in number of NYC productions, including "A School for Scandal" by British playwright Richard Brinsely Sheridan and "Cigarettes and Chocolate" by writer/director Anthony Minghella. Miller started working in television with her role as Fiona Bickerton on "Keen Eddie", where she played a British woman forced to live with an NYPD detective (Valley), who is on the trail of a drug dealer he let get away back in the States. In New York, Sienna also found herself following other interests. One day, she was noticed by Tandy Anderson, the owner of the Select Model Management agency. Sienna was offered the chance to model professionally and she signed on immediately. Afterward, she returned to the United Kingdom and began working as a model. Before long, she was shooting European commercials for Coca-Cola and saw herself working for Italian Vogue and Prada. A few months later, she was modeling for the 2003 Pirelli Calendar. Miller was also cast in a remake of the 1966 comedy classic, "Alfie" (2004). In the update, Miller played one of many women seduced by the roguish Cockney, Alfie (Law) who appears at first to be his perfect, undemanding match and indeed, the actress' edgy performance was singled out as one of the remake's finer elements. Miller and Law spent most of the shoot avoiding the paparazzi, who smelt a story once they realized the two stars were together, despite Law being in the midst of divorce proceedings with actress Sadie Frost. Before the ink was dry on the papers, Law moved into an NYC apartment with Miller to allow their romance to "blossom away from prying eyes." Her skills as an actress attracted the attention of British producer Matthew Vaughn of "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" (1999) and "Snatch" (2001) fame. Vaughn cast Miller in his first feature as director, "Layer Cake" (2004), another British gangster comedy involving thugs, drugs and double crosses. In 2005 while Miller was appearing in London's West End production of "As You Like It" her fiance Law made a public admission of infidelity, apologizing for an affair with his children's nanny (a teary-eyed Miller appeared in the play the day the news broke, but was subsequently replaced by her understudy). The couple attempted to reconcile but ultimately caled it quits. Having signed a 7 year deal with Paramout Pictures, Sienna had already filmed roles in the films 'Joyrider' 'Layer Cake' and 'High Speed' prior to great success & rave reviews to her performance in the remake of the classc Michael Caine movie 'Alfie', which has had very good box office success, Sienna is white-hot in the industry right now and having wrapped on the $60m film 'Casanova in Italy late 2004 alongside Heath Ledger, she is persuing according to reliable sources a major part as Andy Warhol's Muse in an upcoming big budget bio-pic. Whilst working on Alfie Sienna Miller met Jude Law, and on Christmas Day, 2004 they got engaged. In Sienna Miller's interview with my village, she was asked what kind of guys are you attracted to and replied: "Oh God, that's a difficult question. I'm not particularly fussy ..." Before going out with Jude Law, Sienna Miller had a two year relationship with David Neville, an investment banker who has also modelled through the Select Model Agency. Jude Law bought Sienna Miller two puppies called Porgy and Bess. In February 2005 Sienna Miller was presented with the Moussaieff Steinmetz diamonds, the sponsors' award for the best breakthrough actress at the London Party, an annual charity event in London. | |
