Teri Hatcher biography

Teri Hatcher (Teri Lynn Hatcher) was born on 8 December 1964, in Sunnyvale, California, outside of San Francisco to Owen and Esther. Her father was a nuclear physicist, and mother was a computer programmer. Teri is the only child to her parents. Teri is from Italian, Irish, and Native American descent.

Hatcher has attended Mango Junior High School and Fremont High School in Sunnyvale. Hatcher has taken ballet lessons at the San Juan Girls' Ballet Studio in downtown Los Altos, California. She also studied acting at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. In 1984, Hatcher also worked as a cheerleader with the San Francisco 49ers. Hatcher also attended De Anza College in Cupertino, California, where completed degree in mathematics and engineering.

Teri was next planning to move to California Polytechnic Institute but her acting interest not allowed her to do that. Hatcher went to Hollywood with a friend. Hatcher's first acting job was one of the mermaids on Aaron Spelling's "Love Boat (1985-1986)".

In 1986, Teri made her TV debut as Penny Parker on ABC show "MacGyver", the role later become a recurring role and was run up to 1990. Hatcher has given guest appearance in many TV series including "Night Court (1987)", "L.A. Law (1989)", "Quantum Leap (1989)", "Tales from the Crypt (1990)", "Murphy Brown (1990)", and "Seinfeld".

Hatcher her debut in feature films with the comedy "The Big Picture" in 1989. Hatcher next appeared in a supporting role as Sylvester Stallone's love interest in "Tango and Cash (1989)". With supporting and comic roles, Teri later appeared in "Soapdish (1991)" and "Straight Talk (1992)". Along with her film career she was simultaneously appearing in TV shows including Fox show "Karen's Song (1987)", CBS shows "Baby on Board (1988)", and "Sunday Dinner (1991)", and the ABC show "The Brotherhood (1991)".

In 1991, Hatcher was co-starred in the thriller "Dead in the Water" (1991). Hatcher claim to fame with her role as Lois in "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" in 1993. Hatcher got an attention and become a household name in every American house with Lois & Clark. It was her one of the biggest project up to date.

Since Lois & Clark, Teri appeared in many movies including "Brain Smasher. . .A Love Story (1993)", "All Tied Up (1994)", a thriller "Heaven's Prisoners (1996)" along side Alec Baldwin, and in John Herzfeld's crime drama "2 Days in the Valley (1996)". In 1997, Hatcher starred in couple of films including David Schwimmer's "Since You've Been Gone (1997)", which was about a high school reunion and as Paris Carver in the James Bond film "Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)".

In 1999, Hatcher appeared as Sally Bowles in the U.S. touring company of the 1996 revival production of the Kander & Ebb musical "Cabaret". The same year worked as spokesperson for Radio Shack, appeared in Radio Shack commercials along with NFL Hall Famer Howie Long. Also landed a role in film "Fever (1999)".

In 2000's Hatcher landed roles in "Spy Kids (2001)", and "The Chester Story (2003)". Also appeared in made for TV movies such as "Running Mates (2000)", "Say Uncle (2001)", "Jane Doe (2002)", and "Momentum (2003)".

In 2004, Hatcher was cast in the big hit ABC show "Desperate Housewives", playing the role of Susan Mayer, the neighborhood's romance-minded single mom. It is her another big project in her career. In 2005, Golden Globe honored her as the Best Actress in a Television Series (Musical or Comedy). As of 2006, the show is still running. Now Teri earns $380,000 for each episode of Desperate Housewives.

Hatcher released her first book in May 2006, named "Burnt Toast: And Other Philosophies of Life". It was published by Hyperion. She has also launched a line of "Burnt Toast" apparel and other merchandise, for sale directly from her new www.myburnttoast.com website.

Teri Hatcher's Personal Life
Hatcher married twice. She first married the personal trainer Markus Leithold in 1988. Their relationship was ended after 10 months. Teri's second marriage was with actor Jon Tenney. They got married in 1994 but divorced in March 2003. The couple together has a daughter, Emerson Rose, born on November 10, 1997.

It was reported that, in January 2006 Hatcher was in relationship with George Clooney. According to Hatcher they went out on only one date. In March 2006, Hatcher was photographed while kissing American Idol host Ryan Seacrest. Hatcher told Access Hollywood that she was "not attached", but later on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" she said that they went out on three dates, but Seacrest didn't want to continue dating.
