Rooney played for Everton when he was just 16 and shined since then when he scored a last minute goal against then champions, Arsenal. It was his first league goal and Arsenal gave up their chance of remaining unbeaten for their 31st match. After playing for Everton till he was 16, Wayne Rooney was signed by Manchester United to add a gem to the scout. Though they had to pay him a huge 27 million pounds for the Everton player, Manchester knew it was worth the amount. In his debut match for the club Rooney scored a hattrick against Fenerbahce in UEFA champions league. During the world cup 2006 Rooney was declared to be unfit for the matches as he had a broken feet. In an incident at the quarter finals against Portugal Rooney was sent off for stepping on Carvalloh's groin, which he later said was unintentional. Recently referee Rudd Bossen handed over a 23 page report of the ill conduct from the player to the English FA stating the reasons of his sending him off field in an earlier match. Rooney was banned for 3 consecutive matches. Rooney is not married till now but has engaged Coleen McLoughin and yes as many might have heard she a shopping fan. Rooney and Coleen presently are residing in Prestbury, Cheshire in an 4.5 million pound mansion. Wayne Rooney loves watching TV Series Only Horses and Fools, besides being a fan of John Travolta starrer Grease. Nike, Coca Cola, Ford, Nokia has en roped him into lucrative contracts.
